week 5 ?????

Well,
finally the malestrom is easing up enough for me to realize that the 'official' deadline has come and gone!
Oh my my my. I will try to get on with the blog best as I can from here on. The main trouble being that I tend to look at my RSS feeds until my small window of opportunity has passed for getting anything done.

More later...

Week 4 RSS and stuff...

Well,
I have been sooo busy putting stuff on my blog and finding out how to do rss feeds and all that....
I have however neglected to write on my blog itself!
I have managed rss feeds and managed to list all at once all the 'some other bloggers'.
I have also put on a poll measuring how people feel on any given day.
I have been busy at the library with extra storytimes and extra classes for 'click and learn' and camera to computer due to vacationing staff. I also have had visitors at my house from Sydney and dinner parties to deal with and clean up after (my husband cooks, I clean up later).
I do now have a bloglines account of my very own. I wll try to get it onto my blogspot here in a bit.. Keep watching.
Oh well, I must run now and do other things.
Keep Well

Next Thing To Do...

Hello Web Crawlers!

The next bit to accomplish is to blog to another's blog.
I have made comments on portelisabethchick's blogsite and gotten and answer!
I am trying to connect with other bloggers now..

I also have some neat links to other sites to share:

www.warriorlibrarian.com

A most lovely site that is written by a librarian for librarians with fresh content on library happenings all over the world. I have subscribed so as to keep my sanity and to know that patrons are the same the world over.

and

www.icanhascheezburger.com

A much needed daily dose of Cute Cats and Kittens that never fails to bring a smile to my face and a softening of my heart.

so, those are my posts with a'technical' flavour to them.

Have a Great Day!

Week 2 thing 4

O K
Had a look around myspace, facebook, and bebo.
Myspace was the most interesting, in that myspace would allow you to look through others profiles with age definitions/restrictions.
I looked in New Zealand and in the USA. I could not zero in on people from Texas, much to my dismay or people from Arkansas where a good friend of mine lives.
It was good fun, however and I enjoyed having a play.
I am not quite brave enough to put myself out on anymore fronts than this one at this time.
Looking forward tothe 'next' assignment.

Japan Day 15 September 2007 St. Heliers LIbrary

Japan Day at St. Heliers Library
What a huge day! We had dancers, storytellers, Japanese Antique appraisers, Calligraphy, Origami (paper folding), and outside we had more dancers, rice pounding, sushi, rice cakes with red bean paste, fried foods and more.
The staff wore either happi (hopi) coats and headbands or a Kimono with obi sashes tied by the Japanese dancers.
There was also some beautiful music played on instruments I had never seen before. The music is played traditionally in court settings and you could hear the story as the music was played.
WE all had a wonderful time, and were quite exhausted by the end of the day.
A good time was had by all and we are looking forward to next year!

First contact...

Hello to All
(greetings did not sound right, somehow)
This is my first attempt to contact others on this plane of existence via the computer through the 'ethernet'.
The ethers are a nice place to cruise through, but not to visit for any length of time.
Anyway, I spend heaps of time 'out there' and constantly have to be reminded to BE in this reality, please... :)!
I am looking forward to meeting other travelers of the ethernet soon.
I travel mainly through books a la Jasper FForde ( a really great author)
What are you reading?

Later,
